Labor Law
The attorneys of Jordan Law Firm have been representing unions in Pittsburgh and throughout Western Pennsylvania since 1967, handling all aspects of labor-management relations. The firm represents unions in both the private sector (under the Labor Management Relations Act and the National Labor Relations Act) and public sector (under Act 195 and Act 111). Our attorneys provide unions with general, ongoing representation as well as handle the negotiation and drafting of collective bargaining agreements, the presentation of labor contract and grievance arbitration disputes, and the litigation of proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB), and federal and state courts.
Employment Law
Jordan Law Firm represents employees, from blue collar workers to high-level executives, throughout Western Pennsylvania in all types of employment disputes. Our experienced attorneys are available to review, negotiate, and draft employment agreements including compensation agreements, benefit agreements, separation and severance agreements, restrictive covenants, and confidentiality agreements. Our attorneys also advise clients regarding wage and hour issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Law, and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law. In addition, our attorneys can advise and represent employees who believe they have been wrongfully terminated or otherwise discriminated or retaliated against in the workplace.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
The attorneys of Jordan Law Firm include some of the most experienced attorneys in all of Western Pennsylvania in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Litigation is expensive, time consuming, and difficult for plaintiffs and defendants alike. This is why ADR has become increasingly popular and, in some cases, mandatory. Jordan Law Firm’s ADR services include Arbitration, Mediation, and Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) with skilled, veteran neutrals to help you to resolve your disputes.
Our ADR attorneys have functioned as arbitrators, mediators, and early neutral evaluators for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the American Arbitration Association’s National Panel of Mediators, Financial Industry Regulating Authority (FINRA), the National Employment Mediation Services Panel, JUSTUS ADR Services, JUSTUS Medical Malpractice Group, USA&M, and JAMS/Endispute.
Mediation
Our attorneys have successively resolved a wide range of civil cases through mediation, including class and collective actions and multi-party disputes. Mediation services are available both in person and virtually through video conferencing upon request.
Arbitration
In addition to serving as arbitrators through direct appointment, our attorneys regularly serve on the American Arbitration Association’s Employment, Commercial, and Consumer Arbitration Panels and panels provided by the Arbitration and Mediation Service and by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mediation, Department of Labor and Industry.
Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE)
Early Neutral Evaluation is a process at the earliest stage of litigation whereby litigants present their respective positions to an evaluator to obtain their opinion as to the strengths and weaknesses of their cases prior to engaging in a lengthy, and often expensive, discovery process culminating in a trial. An evaluation provides the parties with a cold, hard, objective opinion of what a judge or jury might determine at trial. ENEs often morph into a successful mediation when parties are confronted with weaknesses in their positions, which could prove fatal at trial. Our ADA attorneys are experienced in ENEs and are open to combining an ENE with mediation.
